Living and working in Australia for a long period of time or simply visiting for a few weeks is a real eye opener to how amazing this country is. Australia, as a whole, is one of the most amazing places I have ever been, with a number of different factors making it the place to be. Recently I was reading this article called 'Reasons to love Australia and it got me thinking, everyone loves different countries for different reasons, so why do I love Australia and why is it so appealing to everyone who visits...
The weather: One of the reasons why Australia attracts people is because of the weather. Whether you're living in Cairns, Sydney or Perth, throughout most times of the year you are blessed with sunshine and hot weather. Many people who visit Australia come from colder climates, where sunshine every day would not be something they are used to.
Why Australia is so appealing
Activities: With countless things to do throughout the country you will never be bored. With numerous activities in every city there is always something new and exciting to try. With the more well known attractions such as Fraser Island, Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef popular choices amongst everyone, there is still plenty to do in each place you visit, with the majority of big cities having amazing botanical gardens and museums, for a bit of culture, and plenty of day trips you're pretty much guaraneteed to have a good time.
- Meeting new people: I've never been in a country allowing me to meet people from all around the world. It's what makes Australia special because it's a country of different nationalities and one of the main places people will travel to. This makes it a great place to make new friends and learn all about different cultures.
- Holidays : Australians love any excuse to party, whether it's the local pub down the road on a Saturday night, the night life is booming. As well as your usually nights out Australia celebrates so many different events, New Year, Australia Day, Christmas in July, the list is endless. All of which are a great opportunity to have a drink with your mates and you'll be smiling because chances are a public holiday will mean you have the next day off work.
I'm lucky enough to live in Cairns 'where the rainforest meets the sea' and where we have two World Heritage Listed sites, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest, the weather is amazing here and there is so much to do in and around Cairns that many backpackers find it difficult to leave. Come and stay with us at Nomads Cairns and you can also meet a lot of new people from around the world!
If this is not enough to make you want to come to Australia you are crazy, with the weather, the wildlife, the scenery and the endless activities Australia is the place to be!
